Dear SibsDear Sibs, summer is finally here for us in the UK and what a beautiful time it is. Just walk down the street and you will see the difference in people. They smile, give a nod of acknowledgement and generally seem much brighter and happier (and that's just family!). Our moods, are like the seasons - forever changing. One minute we are glum, low lacking in energy the next we are ready and rearing to go!

What I want to focus on this month though, is the issue of sunstroke.

Sunstroke is a life threatening condition in which the body's heat-regulating system fails due to exposure to high temperatures. It's symptoms are elevated body temperature; hot, dry skin; hyperventilation; mental confusion and eventually unconsciousness. How do we aviod it? By drinking plenty of water.

Food for thought...it's caused by exposure to high temperatures, well we know the enemy attacks us with fiery darts (Ephesians 4:16 NKJ). However, it can be avoided by drinking plenty of water - Jesus provides living water whereby you will never thirst again or eventually loose consciousness (John 4:10-14 NKJ).

Drink of him today - He's waiting!

Until next month

Getting Your House In Order.

Throughout the Bible we are presented with examples of how we must conduct our lives and the way in which things happen. One such example relates to order. Order, not just in being organised in your daily lives but in the way events occur.

Now, some may say that life would be boring if in every area we had to structure it. My word, I've had friends tell me the very same thing but if Jesus did it then why should we do any different. I mean is he not the true living example we should be following? Come now, how many of us would love for our heavenly father, even our earthly parent, to say, "This is my beloved Son [daughter], in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17 NKJ)

As tedious as this may sound, here are some steps to help organise your life.

  • Plan - look at your what needs doing and by when;
  • Organise - whether you use a diary, your mobile phone's calendar or a piece of paper
  • Review - see where you are at continuously.

By doing this, you should hopefully be on track to some order. Why am I telling you this? Well, I'm sure you are aware but the when you make changes in your life for the better the devil gets angry as he hates order. He loves disorder. He is the author of confusion. He does this by using friends, family, colleagues, even you! So, I urge you, put on the amour of God and prepare yourself for battle.....cos he's already prepared!

 broken bread

Looking at the order to the way things happen. Again, the Bible is full of examples. Jesus shows us life order in the breaking of the bread. He takes it, blesses it, breaks it and gives it (Luke 24:30). This is paramount througout the Bible. God took Moses from being killed; He blessed Moses by putting him in Pharoahs house; He broke Moses after he killed a man; and He gave Moses back to deliver his people out of Egypt.

Once we understand the process we have to go through then we will know what is to follow.

Throughout this journey, we must remain focused on God then and only then will we be victorious.

See you next month
