The New Sound of Gospel Media Launch
Sony BMG / Integrity Europe held a special invite-only launch for their new compilation “The New Sound of Gospel” at London’s trendy The Play Room. A mixture of music industry notables alongside key figures from the Gospel community watched inspiring performances from some of the UK acts featured on the album. These included Raymond & Co, Four Kornerz, Ekklesia, Nu Life and Jahaziel. The whole of the UB1 team was down there with DJ El Niño spinning the tunes between sets.

| | dj yemi | 19/04/2006, 09:49 | | Nevertheless Errol Thompson, it certainly is a start and a step in the right direction and as you say, great things are to come. I mean, this is the first time that I have been able to play a compilation cd without having to search through tracks for the good ones. I remember through the years buying the WOW Gospel compilation CDs, and wondering why there was so much 'churchy' gospel music on them. You'd get the first 5 big tracks, and then the rest of these compilation tracks are from songs that people don't really listen too, that you think maybe the record company just let them have the tracks for charity (my opinion though)
Lets support this project, cos its one of the first times that UK Gospel is on a major label (SONY) stateside.

This album will definitely raise our profile in the US as well the other areas it's distributed to. I have bought a copy, HAVE YOU?

Everyone on this disc from the UK with the exception of maybe Ray & Co have only just released their 1st projects in the last couple years even if they may have been around for longer. Instead of shooting down the project Mr Thompson, please give us the links to the websites of those artistes who you think are the new sounds of Gospel. Let the forum judge if they are ready. On our 1st recent outing with Sony, it is quite important that we stand up to our US peers. These artistes did so and are recieving a just reward. To the others, maybe next year. Everybodys game has to go up. This is mainstream baby. Not underground. 'Professional and well presented' is necessary.

| | | Jason Vialva (Guest) | 23/05/2006, 08:34 | | While everything you say, ZR1, is true there are some artistes out there who, while knowing all this, still care about their artistry and trade and are willing to push the envelope to achieve technical perfection while still focusing on 'FIGHTING THE GOOD FAITH'. They will continue to get places that those who think only like yourself will not get. Unfortunately, ZR1, ou have painted only one part of the picture. Ever thought that God wants us to do things properly before he opens the door?
Some artistes are not trying to 'STAND UP IN FRONT THE CHURCH', they are trying to stand up in front the world.
Concerning the US, when I said 'stand up' I meant in terms of quality, shoulder to shoulder not against.

If we are joint heirs in this together, we all must try to go forth and present ourselves properly, planned and prepared in ministry, be it to the world the church or the unsaved, but our for runner is christ and he is our focus towards this perfection even if it is underground or mainstream to the world or an audience of one.
My point is with God allowing these doors to open for us, to go through, the one you go through today should give me some hope of the one I go through tomorrow...because I see the fruit your bearing as something I want to achieve.
Like this ministry breaking through to allow the next gifted group of people to follow through in there desires, and seeing them be fullfilled and still maintaining the order of Gods will to be done.
Plus Gods ways are pass finding out, so I have no doubt that people will achieve even more than I could imagine. I can't limit him on that.
