Mary Mary continue to dominate charts (17.11.08)
“The Sound”, Mary Mary’s latest release, is boosting the duo’s career after its number one debut on the US Billboard's Gospel and Christian and Gospel Album charts.
Selling over 37,000 copies in its first week of release (21 October), this fifth album is officially their highest charting album to date making noticeable debut impressions on additional charts: No.2 US R&B/Hip Hop Albums and No.7 on the overall Top 200 Billboard Chart. Currently, their lead single “Get Up” is at No.3 on the US National Gospel radio airplay charts.
The album features guest appearances by David Banner (Superfriend), Kierra ‘Kiki’ Sheard (God In Me) and the who’s who of Gospel on “It Will All Be Worth It”. Additional information leaked stated that a number of additional tracks not featured on the current 12-song project includes a collaboration with Kirk Franklin “Because Of Him”. It’s thought that these additional songs will feature on a deluxe version release of “The Sound” sometime in 2009.
