Oleta Adams makes rare visit to the UK (17.11.08)
Multi-nominated Stellar, Dove and Grammy Awards singer Oleta Adams is heading to the UK next month for a series of special concerts.
The Oleta Adams UK Tour visits: Liverpool Philharmonic Hall (3 Wed), Birmingham Symphony Hall (4 Thurs), Bristol Colston Hall (5 Fri ) and London Barbican (7 Sun ).
Performing a mixture of hits - including her top 5 smash “Get Here” and Christmas classics alongside new material from her forthcoming Gospel release - Oleta will be backed by her full US live band and the renowned Kingdom Choir from the UK.
Oleta has regularly featured Gospel music in her recordings with an album dedicated to her Christian faith “Come Walk With Me” released in 1997. But her first big break came when she was discovered by the founders of British Pop band Tears for Fears, Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith, whilst performing in bar in Kansas City in the late 80s. And subsequently went onto feature in the Pop band’s 1989 album release “The Seeds of Love”.
More recently Adams’ Worship song “Holy Is the Lamb” was featured as part of the Sony BMG compilation “Celebrate! Songs of Worship” alongside seasoned Gospel veterans Mary Mary, CeCe Winans, Tye Tribbett, amongst others. She was born in Seattle and is the daughter of a preacher.
