Atheists raise funds for 'no God’  bus campaign (11.11.08)

A campaign to brand UK buses with the slogan "There's probably no God" could launch in the near future since reaching its financial target.

More than £107,000 has been raised for the Atheist Bus Campaign that hopes to run a full advertising crusade across the UK.

The campaign, which launched in October, beat its original target of £5,500 to post the slogan: "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life” on 30 London buses for four weeks.

Future plans include advertising on buses, trains and billboards across the UK.

Professor Richard Dawkins, bestselling author of The God Delusion, is officially supporting the Atheist Bus Campaign, and has agreed to match all donations up to a maximum of £5,500. The British Humanist Association, the campaign’s partner, administers all donations.

For more information on the campaign see www.atheistcampaign.org

Good for them. This should help keep us on our toes when explaining our own faith.

What I don't get, why did they put 'There is PROBABLY no God' ??? Why the probably, why didn't they just say there is no God.
Are there some legal implications in saying there is no God?

@Zara: That's exactly it. I heard the lady behind the campaign explaining this on the radio; apparently the law doesn't allow them to say 'there is definitely no God'.

LOL are you serious!!!!!

HAHA, the UK is not that secular as we thought. Do you know where the details of this law is, is it from the religious hatred law?

But actually the statement wont be technically true anyway.

But it is good that other Christians welcome the dialogue with atheist.
