Gospel artist provides advice on beating credit crunch (13.10.08)
“Don’t depend on the physical economy - depend on God for your needs and wants,” says top Christian saxophone player, Mike Aremu.
This was the response given by the Nigerian-based artist when asked by UB1 on how to beat the current financial crisis.
“I’m based in Nigeria and it’s not the norm to do stuff on credit. It’s a cash and carry society. But then I don’t depend on the physical economy. I depend on God for my need and what I want to do.”
During the in-depth interview with UB1, Mike also stated that despite what people may think, there is money to be made ‘doing Gospel’.
“You can make money doing anything as long as you plan it very well,” he claimed. “Whatever you do, do it well and it will attract money. I focus on doing what I’m doing well and trying to make my music stand out. Also what I do is not just a church thing as I play at seminars, conferences etc. You can’t really tell its Gospel but my music definitely has the God factor.”
Full UB1 interview to come later this month.
Mike Aremu is in London to perform his debut concert this Thursday at London’s Jazz Café. Supporting acts include Britain’s sax player, Yolanda Brown and Gospel group, Four Kornerz. For more information visit: www.mikearemuvision.com/tours
