Jakes’ Megafest takes over south Africa (13.10.08)

America’s Bishop T. D. Jakes got a warm welcome from a massive audiences at this year’s MegaFest International.

The two-day festival organised by the famed church pastor from The Potter’s House (Dallas, US) took place from 11-12 October and focused on fellowship, spiritual rejuvenation and personal growth. This year’s event was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, for the first time.

Britain’s Bishop John Francis from Ruach Ministries in London was one of the special guest speakers at the event along with Bishop Noel Jones and gospel artists Israel Houghton and Yolanda Adams, to name a few.

Other event highlights included the MegaCARE Health Fair, which provided general health screenings  for local South Africans. During the first two hours of the festival, MegaCARE physicians provided more than 500 general wellness checks and HIV screenings.

the annual MegaFest hosted by Jakes and his team at The Potter's House, started back in 2004 and is recognised as one of the largest Christian gatherings in the States.
